The Office of Undergraduate Education is collecting application materials for temporary faculty for teaching opportunities that may be available in the 2013/2014 academic year.

Qualifications for Teaching Positions

UNIV 101: Introduction to University Life

Applicants must hold a Master's degree.  Knowledge of inquiry-based learning and of research protocols using both traditional and non-traditional methods are required.  A thorough understanding of the campus and Chico communities is important, as is demonstrable involvement in civic/community activities.  Some familiarity with the literature on emerging adults in college is expected.  UNIV 101 emphasizes academic inquiry, civic engagement, and making a successful transition to university life.

UNIV 105: Self, Identity, and Sustainability

Applicants must hold a Master's degree.  A strong, background in two of three areas is required: composition studies, sustainability studies, studies of emerging adults.  Real-world experience in one of these areas is acceptable, but applicants must have a strong record of academic study in one of them.  UNIV 105 focuses on identity formation in emerging adults in college.  The shared example used throughout the semester is the development of "eco-identities" in college and community settings.
