Hi everyone, my name is Luke Alward and currently I’m a senior at Chico State studying Criminal Justice, while also pursuing a minor in International Relations. I grew up in the small town of Cottonwood, CA, only a short drive north of Chico. This past summer I partook in an Internship with the Butte County Sherriff’s Office in which I gathered research from participating in ride-a-longs with officers supervising felon inmates participating in an alternative rehabilitation program. Dr. Patten and Dr. Caudill, along with a few others are serving as assessment teams of Butte County’s response to AB 109. If you would like to hear about any of my stories or experiences just come on by the FYE office. In a year from now I hope to be in Law school where I want to specialize in International Human Rights and eventually become an advocate for people all over the world. In my spare time I am an avid reader- anything from current events to political science and back to the classics, such as Heart of Darkness. I also love to play sports, my favorite being baseball…go Giants! I’m an active member of the Political Science Honor’s Society (Pi Sigma Alpha). Feel free to contact me if you want more information about the honor’s society. See you all around and if you ever need help with anything feel free to contact me.
