Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”

First Year Experience-CSU, Chico

Current Students

Welcome

We’re glad you’ve chosen to come to CSU, Chico. Now that you’re here, you may be wondering what step you take next. This portion of the First Year Experience Web site is designed for new Chico State students who would like information on resources designed to help make the successful transition to college life. We also list some ideas of things to do on campus and off.  On this page you’ll find links to advising, student support services (counseling, wellness, alcohol and drug education/information, tutoring), residence hall links, University Public Events, and tons of other useful information. Besides the links on this page, check out the links off the main Chico State home page especially for current students, athletics, etc.

There are plenty of fun and interesting things to do on campus and off when you need a break from studying. (You are studying, right?) Chico is not New York or Los Angeles or San Francisco, but that’s a good thing. Despite the town’s small size, we attract some great acts through University Public Events, AS Public Events, as well as at off-campus venues. Chico was named the best bicycling town in America and one of the 150 best cities for the arts in the entire USA. Another great way to connect to the wider Chico community is through volunteer activities and service learning; check out CAVE for more information.
