Prospective Students
Connections Program
When you are accepted to live on a Connections Theme Floor, you are automatically enrolled in four courses, three in the fall term and one in the spring. Applying to live on a Connections Floor means that you are agreeing to enroll in the Connections curriculum. When you arrive at Summer Orientation, you will find that you have already been registered into the three classes associated with your floor’s theme. Courses in this curriculum are General Education classes that count toward graduation.
Self and Community Theme
You will be enrolled in these courses for the fall semester:
- UNIV 101: "Introduction to University Life"
- PSYC 151: "Socio-cultural Context of Personal Development "
- RELS 180: "Introduction to Religious Studies"
You will be enrolled in this course for the spring semester:
- ENGL 130: "Academic Writing: Town Hall Section"
Chico as Place Theme
You will be enrolled in these courses for the fall semester:
- UNIV 101: "Introduction to University Life"
- POLS 155: "American Government"
- CMST 132: "Small Group Communications"
You will be enrolled in this course for the spring semester:
- ENGL 130: "Academic Writing: Town Hall Section"
Business Connections Theme
(offered only for students intending to major in Business)
You will be enrolled in these courses for the fall semester:
- UNIV 101: "Introduction to University Life" for Business majors
- BADM 101: "Introduction to Business Administration"
(This is the required introductory course for the Business major.)
OR - BSIS 105: "Introduction to Business Systems"
(This is the required introductory course for the Business Information Systems major - PHIL 104: "Personal Values"
You will be enrolled in this course for the spring semester:
- ENGL 130: "Academic Writing: Town Hall Section"
