Gateway Science Museum supports educational programming of two quality radio productions by Northstate Public Radio (KCHO 91.7 FM and KFPR 88.9 FM), the Blue Dot Report and In a North State Garden.
The Blue Dot Report, named after Carl Sagan's famous speech about our place in the universe, features interviews with guests from all over the regional, national and worldwide scientific communities. Host Dave Schlom leads discussions about the issues science is helping us address with experts who shed light on climate change, space exploration, astronomy, technology and much more. Dave asks us to remember: from deep space, we all live on a pale, blue dot. The Blue Dot Report airs on NSPR on Thursdays at 6:44 p.m. and Fridays at 7:45 a.m. Episodes of past Blue Dot Reports can be found here.
In a North State Garden is hosted by Jennifer Jewell. Broadcast times are two weekends per month on Saturday at 7:34am and Sunday at 8:34am. Beginning February 4, 2016, In a North State Garden will transform into a 30-minute weekday program entitled “Cultivating Place: Conversations on Natural History and the Human Impulse to Garden,” to be broadcast each Thursday at 10:00 am.
