Class Field Trips Spring 2014

Gateway Science Museum is now accepting reservations for class field trips to explore our Spring 2014 exhibits: Explore Evolution; Changing California: Geological and Ecological Transformations; and Sacrament: Homage to a River. Descriptions of these exhibits can be found here

Gateway Science Museum is proud to offer a variety of exciting, interactive and educationally-rich field trip options for all age levels throughout the year. The museum’s field trips further our mission of “Inspiring the exploration of science and natural history, in our region and beyond,” while also helping to support the educational goals of teachers and students.

Educators are encouraged to read through the field trip options below in order to choose the best field trip for your classroom and current learning objectives.

OPEN FIELD TRIPS:

Gateway Science Museum is open exclusively for classroom visits for all grade levels on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Open Field trips encourage open and self-directed exploration of the museum’s exhibits. Open Field trips can include all current exhibits, or can focus on just those exhibits that are relevant to your classroom’s current learning content or skills. Teachers may choose to enhance the experience by using supplemental curriculum materials and standards correlations that will be available here before field trips begin. Experienced museum field trip docents dedicated to your class provide an introduction to the museum and to each exhibit you will see. They are then available to answer any questions, allowing for free discovery and inquiry.
