Career Day: High Tech

Monday, November 9, 2015 from 3:30pm until 5:00pm.

Careers in High Tech is ONLY for high school & lower division college students, as well as their class teachers and advisors. Parents and siblings are encouraged to visit another time. Admission is free for students with valid ID.

Students will have the opportunity to meet with local software and related high tech professionals and learn about career paths that span from Developer to Researcher to Entrepreneur. There will also be time to explore our current exhibits: Masters of the Night – The True Story of Bats and Modern Farming – Land, Water, People, and Science.

Participating students are eligible to win prizes, such as a digital tablet, headphones, and gift cards. Snacks to be provided. For more information, please contact or (530) 898-5130.

Saturday Investigation Station Activities

Most Saturdays during exhibit seasons, Gateway hosts a drop-in activity in the Investigation Station between 1:00pm and 3:00pm. Click on the calendar link above to see what activity is happening. All activities are included with paid admission and are subject to change.

Museum Without Walls (MWOW)

The Fall 2015 Museum Without Walls lecture series, Things That Go Bump in the Night, begins October 7, 2015. Presentations will take place on four consecutive Wednesday evenings beginning October 7 and ending October 28, 2015.

Presentations begin at 7:30pm at the Gateway Science Museum. 

Entrance fee is $3 per person. Students are free with valid student ID card. Museum members are free with valid membership card. Parking in the Gateway lot requires a parking permit. Permits are $1 per hour and can be purchased at the kiosk near the museum entrance using coin, cash or credit. For additional parking options, click here.

Gateway Science Museum supports educational podcasts from two quality radio productions by Northstate Public Radio KCHO/KFPR, the Blue Dot Report and In a North State Garden.  The Blue Dot Report is hosted by Dave Schlom.
