Educational Activities

Wind Energy Workshop, July 27, 2013, 1pm to 3pm

Did you know that a wind turbine can generate enough energy to power 600 homes in the U.S.? Come learn about wind power and build a wind turbine using Lego robotics. Visit the wind turbine constructed by students from the College of Engineering, and on display in the Gateway Gardens. 

This workshop is free for members or with paid admission to the museum. Space is limited so please come early to reserve your spot. This workshop is geared toward visitors middle school and up, however participants aged 11-15 will be required to be accompanied by an adult.

Museum Without Walls (MWOW)

The spring 2013 MWOW series, Medicine in Motion: Science of Sports, concluded on April 24, 2013.  The fall 2013 MWOW will be in October.  Check back this fall for more details.

Gateway Science Museum supports educational podcasts from two quality radio productions by Northstate Public Radio KCHO/KFPR, the Blue Dot Report and In a North State Garden.  The Blue Dot Report is hosted by Dave Schlom.
