An Evening to Treasure

"An Evening to Treasure" was hosted by the Gateway Science Museum on November 12, 2011.  The evening was sold out with over 200 guests enjoying the plentiful Silent Auction, the unique Treasure Quest, delicious food plus an exciting Live Auction.  Along with the generous funding of Treasured Sponsors, the museum benefit raised well over the goal of $50,000.

The Board Members and the Planning Committee are sincerely grateful to the many friends and businesses whose generous donations of auction items, funds, time and expertise made "An Evening to Treasure" such a phenomenal success.

The funds raised will be designated for new exhibits, educational programs for the numerous students and classroom visits to the museum, in addition to a full week of summer camp for children from under-served areas.  Ongoing support of the museum is necessary to maintain the high quality exhibits and educational programs for our members and our community.

Gateway Science Museum wins the 2011 Chico Palio!!

This horse was Gateway's entry at Chico Palio, Saturday, September 10, 2011.  Macy Allread created the horse as a class project in 2008.

Chico Palio is the official kick-off event for Artoberfest, a month-long festival of Arts & Culture in Chico.  The Chico Palio is modeled after Italy's centuries old Siena Palio horse race.  Instead of racing horses, however, the Chico Palio is a race of humans carrying horse sculptures.  Great job by Oliver Shabram and Matthew Sloggy, the Gateway runners!
