Welcome to the CSU, Chico Gateway Gardens!
Gateway Gardens announces Sustainability Education Program
About the Gateway Garden:
New educational programs are in development for the Gateway Gardens, focused on sustainability. Multiple opportunities are available for volunteer participation in the raised bed edible garden areas.
Sustainability programs are new additions to educational programs at Gateway Science Museum. Planned activities include plant propagation, planting and care of edible gardens, food preparation using garden grown food, nutrition education, and more. In addition to the Gateway’s eco-region-based landscaping and a native plants demonstration bed already in place, five raised beds are now dedicated to edible gardening.
Volunteer opportunities at Gateway Gardens are now available and include:
Gardening – planting, cultivating and general garden care of raised beds
Educational programs using raised bed areas
Community garden events - planning, teaching, learning!
Students and community members of all ages are welcome to become garden volunteers. For more information contact Melissa Taylor, Student Director, Gateway Gardens Sustainability Programs at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Jennifer Jewell, Volunteer Coordinator Gateway Science Museum at email@example.com.
The Gateway Gardens are open during regular Gateway hours:
Wednesday through Sunday noon to 5 pm
