Volunteering
Program Overview
The Gateway Science Museum‘s mission is to create a life-long learning environment that enables people to explore, interpret, and celebrate the magnificent natural history of our region. This is our goal for our visitors, our dedicated staff, and YOU, our amazing volunteers. Our 150+ generous and talented volunteers serve hundreds of hours each year to make the museum’s educational exhibits, research, and community outreach possible. We are grateful for all that our volunteers do.
When you volunteer at the Gateway Science Museum you give back to the North State community we call home! Community members of all ages and backgrounds serve in a variety of positions, depending on personal interests and the opportunities available at any time. We have a wide variety of enriching and exciting volunteer opportunities, and we welcome volunteers for time-limited projects such as special events or summer camps, as well as long-term commitments such as exhibit docents.
