From January 16 through May 8, 2016, Gateway's operation hours will be:
Wednesday through Sunday: OPEN noon to 5pm
Monday, Tuesday: CLOSED
Gateway will be CLOSED May 9 through May 27, 2016 for exhbit installation.

Children (3 - 17 years) and students with valid ID: $5
Children (2 and under): FREE
Gateway Science Museum welcomes groups of 15 to 30 individuals with discounted entry rates. Group must arrive together to take advantage of group rates. Individuals arriving after the group will be charged full price. If your group is larger than 30, please contact us. The following rates are for groups of 15 – 30 people:Adults (18 and older): $4 each
Children (3 - 17 years) and students with valid ID: $4 each
A 30-minute guided tour for groups of 15 – 30 people is available for a fee of $30, in addition to applicable entrance fees. Maximum group size is 30 people. Reservations AND PAYMENT IN FULL are required at least one week in advance.
CHILDREN'S BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Gateway Science Museum is available for hosting children's birthday parties for kids under 12 years old.
For parties up to 12 children and a maximum of 4 adult chaperones, a 2-hour Gateway party includes a dedicated docent to guide your group through the gallery exhibits, a hands-on activity of your choice for your group in the Investigation Station, and a small gift bag for each child. Extra adults and children are welcome with paid admission. However, extra children will not be able to participate in the hands-on activity or receive a gift bag.
While there is no food or drink allowed in the museum, parties are welcome to use the tables in the back garden or the amphitheater to gather and have snacks. Downtown restaurants and Children's Park are also within easy walking distance.
Cost is $150. Reservations are subject to availability AND PAYMENT IN FULL is required at least one week in advance. Birthday parties are not available on Saturdays from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Click here for hands-on activities available for birthday parties.

Beginning July 27, 2015, the parking permit kiosk at Gateway will NOT ACCEPT CASH OR COINS. Kiosk will only accept credit or debit cards to pay for permits.
On weekdays that Gateway is open (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays), the parking spaces closest to the museum building are reserved for museum visitors ONLY. Click here for a helpful parking map. To park in the museum lot on one of these days, visitors must:
- Purchase a parking permit for their time at Gateway at the self-service ticket kiosk near the museum entrance. Permits are $1 per hour or $5 for all day and may be purchased with credit/debit cards with the Visa/MasterCard logos ONLY. Please read directions on the kiosk carefully.
- Place parking receipt face up on dashboard of vehicle.
- Register the vehicle in the museum store to ensure a parking citation is not issued.
Parking in these spots without following these steps may result in a citation.
On weekends parking is free and more available. Parking spaces in the museum lot, as well as the campus lot behind the museum near the Aymer J. Hamilton building, are available for parking for free. Parking in campus lots is not restricted on weekends or official state holidays.
Additional parking is available on the streets around downtown at meters.
Please do not park at the Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park when coming to the museum. Parking in their lot may result in a citation. Also know that many of the residential streets around the immediate area of the museum do not allow public parking.
