PARKING
On weekdays that the museum is open (Wed-Fri) parking spaces closest to the museum building are reserved for museum visitors only. Other uses of these spots could result in a citation. In order to park in these spaces you must pay $1 per hour or $5 for all day. Parking permits can be purchased at the self-service ticket kiosk near the front of the museum with bills or a credit card. Your receipt should be placed on your dashboard so it is visible from outside the car.
On the weekends (Sat-Sun) parking is more available and free. Parking spaces in the museum's lot, as well as the campus lot behind the museum near the Aymer J. Hamilton building, are available for parking for free. Parking in campus lots is not restricted on weekends or official state holidays.
Additional metered parking is available on the streets around downtown at meters.
Please do not park at the Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park when coming to the museum. Parking in their lot may result in a citation. Also know that many of the residential streets around the immediate area of the museum do not allow public parking.
Additional information about parking on campus can be found here.
