Graduate Program

Please note: the Department of Geography and Planning is not accepting applications for graduate studies in 2013-14.

The graduate program in the Department of Geography and Planning at California State University, Chico is designed to generate and transmit knowledge and practice associated with human and physical spatial systems, the interrelationship among those systems, and the methods and technologies by which those systems are studied and applied. Our graduate program is committed to the transmission of geographic knowledge.

We integrate geographic research, teaching, research, and service in a manner relevant to the real world and to theoretical problems. Our expectation is that those graduating with the MA will be outstanding professionals, scholars, and educators; our graduates will make significant contributions in academia, government, and in the private and non profit sectors.
