About Us

The GeoPlace Mapping Lab is a student-run spatial data development and map creation service by the Department of Geography and Planning within the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences.  GeoPlace provides free mapping services to faculty, staff and graduate students that includes print and hardcopy maps, digital or web-based maps, and the development of spatial and non-spatial datasets using a full suite of geospatial technology.

The student assistants are overseen by Dr. Naomi Lazarus and GIS Coordinator Peter Hansen who provide technological guidance and administrative support.  GeoPlace is currently funded through a University Foundation grant which allows for this service to be provided to campus without cost to our clients.
