Minor in Geology

A minor in geology allows students from other majors to develop a comprehensive, yet concise, understanding of earth processes. Building on core courses in physical, historical, and field geology, students select two additional courses as electives from the wide array of subdisciplines. Some examples of elective courses include paleontology, mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, hydrogeology, volcanology, geochemistry, and economic geology. Course requirements.

Certificate in Hydrogeology

This certificate provides geology majors with the information and skills necessary to become certified hydrogeologists in the state of California. See the course requirements. Before beginning required courses for the certificate, students must have completed the following courses with a minimum GPA of 2.5:
