Chico-China Presidential Graduate Fellowship (CCPGF)


Qualified applicants from the People's Republic of China may be eligible to receive the China-Chico Presidential Graduate Fellowship to pursue a master’s degree at California State University, Chico. The Fellowship includes a per-semester stipend, a non-resident tuition waiver, a registration fee waiver, and the possibility of a departmental Graduate Assistantship. Please read the Fellowship requirements below:


Undergraduate GPA: 3.5 on a 4.0 scale


TOEFL: minimum score of 600 (250 CBT; 80 iBT)


GRE: submission of GRE scores is required; each program has a different GRE score requirement


Applicants to the following master's programs are eligible:


  1. Biological Sciences
  2. Botany
  3. Communication Studies
  4. Electrical Engineering
  5. English
  6. Environmental Science
  7. Geography and Planning
  8. Geosciences
  9. History
  10. Nutritional Science

Graduates from the following institutions are eligible:


  1. Tsinghua University
  2. Peking University
  3. Nanjing University
  4. Fudan University
  5. Nankai University
  6. Zhejiang University
  7. Xian Jiaotong University
  8. Xiamen University
  9. Dalian University of Technology
  10. Beijing Normal University

Additional Conditions:


  1. Applicants must not be older than 25 years old at the time of application
  2. Graduates who have studied overseas are not eligible
  3. Preference will be given to applicants who have no or not more than one semester of graduate work
  4. Applicants with graduate degrees shall not be eligible for the same academic disciplines

The graduate application fee ($55) is waived for applicants to this Fellowship.
