Mission Statement:
Meeting Date: May 13, 2008
Old Business:
- Plans to solicit donations from Alumni through the Advancement Office have not happened yet. Susan and Frank will follow up with Bob Alber this summer.
- This summer, Frank plans to work on submitting 2 or 3 grant proposals, probably related to Asian Studies, culture, and/or language. Diane’s staff will try to review the list of Japanese Foundations submitted by Luna.
New Business:
- We could try to cooperate with the College Development Officers, but we need to figure out what we can contribute to the partnership.
- William shared that ALCI is considering developing a program to bring Nepali people to CSUC to study English and conflict resolution or perhaps sustainability. Will try to fund through McConnell Foundation in Redding. The question was raised as to whether GIIS has something to contribute that could make them a partner in this program.
- GIIS needs its own Development Officer. All of the other colleges have them.
