Ms. Parks has a California teaching credential and has experience teaching and developing curriculum internationally. After living and working in India as a Peace Corp volunteer, and also Chile and Honduras for two years each, she has developed a cultural sensitivity that enables her to work very effectively with individuals from a variety of countries.
She has been a manager for over forty previous federally funded projects including ACTR’s most recent two 3TP training programs, five Civic Education Internship programs, three TEA programs, and two School Directors program.
Ms. Parks has traveled to Moscow for the follow-on component of training in “NGO Resource Center Management.” She assisted in the establishment of the Office of International Programs at Naryn State University in Kyrgyzstan in April 2000.
In addition she spent one week in Baku, Azerbaijan for selection of the TEA teachers and spent two weeks in Georgia on a follow-on media training program. Her extensive management and international experience ensures a professional and successful outcome of all training program. Her interaction with international groups provides continuity and helps participants to focus on training objectives.
