Travel Preparation
We know you are getting excited and looking forward to your semester or year abroad. Prior to your departure, please be sure to read and follow this checklist to make sure everything is in order.
Obtain E-mail Addresses and phone numbers of academic advisers.
Check travel advisories at: www.state.gov.
Get any required immunizations for your country: www.cdc.gov/travel/.
Obtain Travel Discount Cards:
- ISIC (International Student ID Card) (www.counciltravel.com)
- Eurorail Pass (www.raileurope.com)
- Youth Hostel Pass (www.hostelworld.com)
Give Power of Attorney to a parent or close relative.
Change your mailing address with the school (can be done using your portal).

Make 2 copies of all your important documents (one should go with you abroad in your suitcase, the other to a parent or close relative):
- Passport
- Visa
- ISIC Card, Drivers License, and any other Identification cards
- All credit/debit cards (front and back)
- Health Insurance Information
- Power of Attorney letter (Notarized)
Read through the Country Specific binder located in the Study Abroad Resource Room, Tehama 212-A.
Purchase and read any travel books for your country. Recommended Readings:
