Getting Involved
Internship Opportunities with the Study Abroad Office:
The Study Abroad office at Chico State offers students the chance to earn one or two-units of academic credit for their internship with our office.
The internship opportunities available are:
- Special Events Planning
- Marketing & Recruitment
- Public Relations
- Peer Advising
- International Mentor Program
If interested, please carefully read through the Internship document below to decide which internship you would like to apply for. Follow the directions at the end of Internship document to request an application from the study abroad office.
Volunteer with the Study Abroad Office:
One of the first things students say to us when they return is “How can I work for the Study Abroad office?” Paid positions are limited in our office, but there are many ways you can stay involved with us. Throughout each semester, we arrange many events on campus to help educate our students and community about Study Abroad and the benefits of the internationalization of our campus.
Some of these activities include:
- Information Tables
- Classroom Visits
- International Education Week
- International Movie Nights
- Coffee, Cake, and Culture (Community event in downtown Chico)
- Orientation
We always need volunteers for these events. If you want to help us out, contact the Study Abroad Office, (530) 898-5415 or e-mail us: studabr@csuchico.edu

UNITE: Universal Networking In Travel and Education
UNITE is a club that has recently started on campus to help with the efforts to internationalize Chico State. The number of international students that attend Chico State continues to grow each year and it is important to Chico State to welcome these students into our community and show an interest in their culture and ideals.
We work closely with the Study Abroad office on campus and many of our members are American students who have recently studied abroad. The club is geared towards gathering Americans and international students who are currently studying at Chico State. If you love all things international and want to meet new people from around the world who share your interests, this club is for you!!!
If you are interested in joining or getting more involved please contact the club presidents Jen Kappelhof or Katie Walker at chicounite@gmail.com
