Extending Your Program


We are pleased to hear you have been enjoying yourself overseas and that you wish to continue your studies abroad!


Find your program below and follow the directions to extend your semester or year abroad!


USAC Students:


Speak with your Resident Director and let them know your intentions.


Contact the USAC Central Office to find out what additional paperwork you will need.


We (CSU, Chico) will need the “Intent to Extend (pdf)” and an updated “Financial Planning (pdf)” forms from you.


  • Please fax them over to us with “ATTN: Tasha Dev or Michael Nieto – Study Abroad” on the cover page to make sure they get to us.
  • Our fax number from abroad is 001-530-898-6889.

Direct Exchange:


Visit the International Office and speak with them about your intentions.


Contact Tasha Dev to find out what needs to be done at CSU, Chico.

IP Students:


Contact your resident Director on site.


Contact Tasha Dev to let her know your plan.


IP Participants receive information from their overseas centers about applying for a second year. A renewal applicant must submit his/her renewal application to the Resident Director (or the overseas program assistant) by February 15. The Resident Director (or the overseas program assistant) must complete a section of the renewal application and deliver the renewal application to OIP by March 1. CSU students may participate for a maximum of two years in the International program, whether consecutively or otherwise.” (taken from the IP Handbook)
