Faculty Opportunities Abroad
Resident Director Applications for International Programs
- The California State University's Office of International Programs is constantly and actively seeking qualified California State University faculty to serve as Resident Directors in its international programs in China, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and Spain.

USCA Site Visits
- USAC coordinates two group site visits (one in the fall, and one in the spring) during the academic year. This Fall 2006, the visit was to Spain and France. For Spring 2007, the visit will be to Italy and Germany. These group visits provide on-site orientations with the Resident Directors, faculty and staff. Briefings on the diverse elements of the program site, as well as academic, social, extracurricular activities and guided tours of the area are also arranged.

Visiting Professors in USAC Programs
- CSU, Chico faculty may apply to teach at one of the USAC sites for a semester or summer. Please contact Dr. Susan Place for more information on all aspects of this program, as well as application procedures and deadlines. The deadline is usually in early February.
FIDA (Faculty International Development Awards)
- These awards are available to academic or administrative staff at CSU, Chico, who may participate as a student on a month-long summer program in order to gain international experience at one of the following sites: Chile, China, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, France (June only), Germany, Ghana, Italy or Spain.
- USAC pays the program tuition and a $1,500 award which is intended to cover the airline ticket and a portion, if not all, of the housing (additional expenses are the responsibility of the recipient of the award).
- We usually earn at least a few of these awards to grant every semester. Also, the more students we send, the more awards we receive, so send all of your students to the Study Abroad Office!!!
