Dear Chico State Physics Alum,

Have you heard the news? The Department of Physics is proud to announce the second annual Physics Summer Research Institute (PSRI) will be held this summer. This mentorship program is designed to provide our students with unparalleled scientific research experience. This program is dependent upon private support from donors like you.

Your donation will allow students to have a 10-week summer research experience with one of our amazing faculty members and further their preparation for a career in physics. PSRI provides each student with a $3,500 stipend for 10 weeks of summer work. Our budget also includes additional $1,500 for purchasing equipment and supporting each student to present at various national and international physics conferences. For 2016 PSRI, we are planning to select four to six students to participate. To make this happen we need approximately $30,000 in private support.

Giving a gift of $1,500, $250, $100, $25, or any amount that fits your budget will truly make a difference. Click here to make a tax-deductible gift to the College of Natural Science’s Physics Summer Research Institute:

Thank you for taking this opportunity to ensure our physics students have the opportunity to participate in this unique hands-on research program. Your generous support is essential and greatly appreciated as it makes a significant impact on our students’ current education and future lives as leaders, innovators, and trailblazers within the physics field.
