Comedy: Maz Jobrani
Persian Cultural Association (a CSUC student club) will be hosting a celebration of Noruz, the Persian New Year. The event is on Sunday March 8th at 4:30pm at CSUC, Bell Memorial Union building. This year we have invited the famous and funny Maz Jobrani who is a stand up comedian from the “Axis of Evil Comedy Tour” as well as films such as The Interpreter and TV programs including Knights of Prosperity. All proceeds will benefit the club and the Associated Student Multicultural Council. Tickets for CSUC students are set at $2 per person and the tickets for all others are $10 per person. Tickets will be available in the BMU on Tuesday March 3 and Thursday March 5 from 10am to 2pm, or can be purchased at Azad's Martial Arts at 313 Walnut Street/Nord Ave #150.

University Film Series :Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête)
(1946, France) 93 min. Adaptation of Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont's fairy tale. Starring Josette Day as Belle and Jean Marais as both Avenant and The Beast. The plot revolves around Belle's father who is sentenced to death for picking a rose from Beast's garden. Belle offers to go back to the Beast in her father's place. Beast falls in love with her and proposes marriage on a nightly basis, which she refuses. Belle eventually becomes more drawn to Beast, who tests her by letting her return home to her family telling her that if she doesn't return to him within a week, he will die of grief. 7:30pm, Ayres 106

Lecture: Building Communities in Africa
Millions of people across Africa lack access to safe, clean drinking water. Such conditions often lead to illnesses such as cholera, typhoid, polio, and dysentery. Local public defender and Chico resident, Ron Reed, has devoted himself to battling the issue by organizing the installation of wells throughout remote areas of Tanzania. Come join Reed as he dscusses his past and current project efforts. 3:30-4:30pm, Langdon 303.

Scott has extensive international experience as Co-founder and Principal of Learning Change and through working extensively in experiential education, youth leadership development, juvenile justice, and social welfare arenas.
