Campus Global Initiatives

Access to Excellence, the CSU system strategic plan, commits to increasing student access and success, meeting state needs for economic and civic development, and sustaining institutional excellence. Essential among the strategies to achieve these goals is the committment to Enhance Global Awareness. Given the incredibly rapid pace of globalization in the last few decades, it is imperative for CSU, Chico, as a leading public university in the north state, to make international education and global citizenship an essential part of its mission. CSU, Chico’s Vision Statement calls upon us “to create a vital and collaborative living and learning experience for students, who will appreciate and embrace the local, regional, and global communities of which we are all a part” . The commitment is further articulated in strategic priority one of the Strategic Plan which states that we commit to “engaging our students in the richness and diversity of American and world cultures both inside and outside the classroom.”(Updating CSU, Chico’s Strategic Plan, May 2006)
