The following resources are intended to assist students in exploring careers abroad as well as career opportunities based in the U.S., but with an international dimension. We have provided these links as a service to the campus community, but have not conducted a thorough review of the individual organization.The CSU, Chico Career Center is available to help students explore possible career directions and prepare for the job search.

  • A Handbook for Global Careers: Produced by the California Community Colleges, this handbook has chapters on the career search process, as well as on specific industries such as education, government, agriculture, media, etc. It includes lists of companies based in California that operate in each industry.
  • Careers in International Education: There are many jobs in the field of International Education. At a college or university, there are professionals working in international admissions, international student recruiting, international student advising, study abroad program administration, etc. There are also people who manage high school study abroad programs. Some work in U.S. offices, and some work overseas in direct contact with students: teaching classes, managing host family programs, arranging sightseeing excursions and more. Others work for government programs, non-profit organizations, and educational/ecotourism travel companies. This resource links to useful Web sites in the field.
