Internships
There are a wide variety of international internships available. Undertaking an internship abroad will demonstrate to a prospective employer that you have the cross-cultural skills to be successful in a professional context.
Some of the internships listed below are paid positions, and some are volunteer positions. It is also quite common that you would pay a fee to the company that arranges the internship for you. Do not make your decisions based on price alone as the cheaper programs may also be less well run.
Students should carefully research any program in which they are interested. A great book to consult is Lonely Planet Volunteer: A Traveller's Guide to Making a Difference Around the World. Students must ensure that the program is reputable as well as finding the program that is the right match for their interests.
The following internships have deadlines throughout the year. Many of the opportunities are available in consecutive years, so they remain posted even after deadlines have passed. We have provided these links as a service to the campus community, but have not conducted a thorough review of the individual programs. In addition to these resources, The CSU, Chico Career Center is available to help you search for internships.
