Mac Mail IMAP Configuration
This document details how to setup a WildcatMail account for access using IMAP in Mac Mail.
- Enable IMAP using the Web interface
If you have not done so already, Enable IMAP for WildcatMail before setting up IMAP access in Entourage. - Set your IMAP password
If you haven't used IMAP with your WildcatMail power by Google you'll need to set your IMAP password. - Open Mac Mail
HD > Applications > Mail
Enter your username and password as below. Enter your username wherever 'username' is.

- Enter Incoming Mail Server Info
Enter in the general information for the account as below.

You may receive an error message that Mac Mail was unable to connect to the imap.gmail.com. Do not panic, we will remedy this later. Click the next button. -
Enter Outgoing Mail Server Info
Enter in the general information for the account as below.- Make sure to check the Use Authentication box.
- Make sure you are using the same password the whole way through.
- You may receive an error message that Mac Mail was unable to connect to smtp.gmail.com . Do not panic, we will remedy this later. Click the next button
- Confirm Account Creation
The account should now be created, though there are other things that need to be changed. Click done to bring up the Mac Mail account.

From here, click on Mail and then Preferences. This should bring up the following window:

- Change Outgoing Mail Setting
Click on the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) options and select Edit Server List.

- Change from Use default ports to Use custom port and use port 587.
- Check the box Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and set the Authentication to Password.
- Click OK
Click OK, and exit out of the Accounts window making sure to save your changes.
