Pi Kappa Alpha
Nickname: PIKE
Colors: Garnet and Old Gold
National Founding Date: March 1, 1868
Local Founding Date: November 6, 2010
Motto: “...Once a PIKE...Always a PIKE”
Pi Kappa Alpha is dedicated to developing men of integrity, intellect, and high moral character and to fostering a truly lifelong fraternal experience. The men of our chapter strive to set the standard of these values through our actions at Chico State and in the community.
Our chapter was colonized on October 25th, 2009 with over 70 men. This makes us one of the newest and largest fraternities in Chico, made up of the scholars, leaders, athletes, and gentlemen on campus. We pride ourselves in the quality of men we recruit, philanthropy dollars we raise, community service hours we accumulate, athletic triumphs, and maintaining high GPAs. Pike also takes value in its relationships with sororities and fraternities alike. Our socials, formals, and other coordinated events promote the feeling of a bond within the Greek system.
The Lambda Psi chapter was awarded its charter to become an officially recognized fraternity, signed its lease to a prime downtown chapter house, excelled in academics, won an intramural championship, logged thousands of community service hours, and created an annual philanthropy event known as the Firefighter’s Challenge. We want the best men to join us in our efforts to better the Greek system, increase community involvement, and create the ideal Chico experience.
