About Us

The Greendance Film Festival premiered in 2007 as the Ch*Eco Film Fest.

The Greendance Film Festival, February 28-March 2, 2008, was hosted by California State University, Chico's Institute for Sustainable Development and the Chico Sustainability Group. Our mission is to inform and inspire for positive environmental change. Using the medium of environmental film, it is our goal to present new ideas, encourage deep thought, and inspire action towards more sustainable lifestyles and a healthy planet.

The Institute for Sustainable Development is dedicated to sustainable development as a means of balancing human social, cultural, and economic needs with the natural environment. The University is striving to become a leader in achieving a new vision of education which integrates the principles of sustainable development into the academic programs, practices, and collaborations of our university.
