What GST Offers You | What is GST Like?

Opportunities for Active Learning

GST provides unusual hands-on and experiential learning. We involve you in your education.

  • See great drama in three days at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland and during two visits to the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco or the Berkeley Repertory Theatre.

  • Experience art by working with a variety of media and styles and by visiting museums in the Bay Area.

  • Understand drama by participating in two or three student productions of famous plays during the year.

  • Learn about the scientific method--practicing it doing astronomy and physics.

  • Study ecology at Chico State's Biological Field Station at Eagle Lake and at the Big Chico Creek Ecological Preserve.

  • Get involved in the "real-world" by working as a classroom aid, being a big brother or big sister, adopting a grandparent, working with children or veterans in a CAVE assignment.
