What is GST Like?
- GST generally meets three hours a day, 9-12:30, four days a
week. Wednesdays in the fall and Fridays in the spring are art
studio and activity days. They may run from 9-4.
- Class time is a mix of discussions, student presentations, lectures,
demonstrations, small-group activities, and guest speakers.
- Several times a year we go on field trips; at least two are
"overnighters" and some are day trips.
- In your year in GST, we will study the full range of human achievements,
from cave painting to modern physics, from the invention of the
plow to atonal music, from philosophy to economics. By the end
of the year we will be looking at our own time and the future.
