Opportunities for Active Learning | What is GST Like?

The Students

GST students represent a normal cross section of college freshmen. There are former cheerleaders, student politicians, journalists, and athletes, as well as bookworms, skateboarders, musicians, and dramatists. Their backgrounds are also as diverse as California itself. Their majors range from education, computer science, and biology to music, art, math, and agriculture. They are distinguished from other freshmen only by their determination to make the most of their freshman year and willingness to stand apart from the crowd to make that happen by applying to GST and working hard once they get here.

The opportunity to know and study with such students is one of the most important things GST offers you; it is often cited by our alumni as the best feature of GST.
