John Cannan teaches nonprofit management and
grantwriting at California State University, Chico, one day per week each
semester. He is the Foundation Director of the Emergency Services Foundation, a
nonprofit organization that provides equipment, training and other resources to
emergency response organizations in an 11-county region in Northern California.
John has extensive experience securing grants from private foundations,
corporations and government sources. He has worked with nonprofit organizations
to secure millions of dollars in grants for community-based projects in health,
emergency services, economic development, social services and other areas. He
has taught more than 3,000 people the craft of grantwriting, funding research
and nonprofit management.
