Dennis Hyde is the Coordinator of the Addiction Studies Program at Butte Community College.  He has directed the program, which is a four semester program designed to teach and train students to become drug and alcohol counselors for 16 years.  He is a marriage and family therapist and has a private practice in Chico.  In addition to treating addiction issues, he works with families and marriages as well as adolescents.  He is past Northern California Vice-president for the California Association of Alcohol and Drug Educators and is a certified drug and alcohol counselor (CATS) through CAADE.
