Roland J. Lamarine is a native of New Hampshire where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire. He has a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Vermont and his doctorate in Public Health was completed at Indiana University in 1987. His work experience includes a wide variety of teaching settings ranging from elementary to graduate school. He has worked in public schools as a teacher and curriculum coordinator, and spent several years as a teacher and health educator for American Indian tribes in the southwest.
He has been on the faculty of the Department of Health and Community Services at California State University, Chico since 1987. His research interests include American Indian health issues, drug education, and consumer health education. Dr. Lamarine has published widely on a variety of health topics focusing on consumer education. Dr. Lamarine has also maintained a life long interest in nutrition, fitness, and natural history, which are addressed in his professional practice and his private avocation.
