Wendy Oji Kaplan is a Health Educator for the California Health Collaborative’s Cancer Detection Program: Every Woman Counts. She provides breast and cervical cancer education to low-income women in 16 northern California counties.
Wendy has been working as a health educator since she graduated in 1997 from the Health and Community Services Department at Chico State. In 2003, she earned a Masters of Public Health degree from San Jose State. Wendy has worked as a nutrition educator, HIV educator and test counselor, homeless youth street outreach worker, comprehensive sexuality education specialist, and director of community services for a rural Tribal nation.
Wendy spends her free time with her 2 young daughters, partner, and dog. Her interests include sustainable food systems, eliminating health disparities, listening and dancing to West African music, crossword puzzles, and jewelry making.
