Organ:
Early Halloween!

Sun., Oct. 28 at 2 p.m.
Harlen Adams Theatre

Chico’s famous University Centennial Pipe Organ will spook audiences in an Early Halloween concert performed by David Rothe.

J.S. Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in d minor” is sure to cackle the rafters of the theatre.

And you won’t want to miss Charles Gounod’s “Funeral March for a Marionette,” the theme music for Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Other works will include Leon Boelmann’s “Suite Gothique,” Messiaen’s “Apparition,” and Flagler’s “Alpine Fantasy and Storm.”

Advance tickets, at $15 adults, $13 senior citizens, and $6 students/children, are available at the University Box Office, 898-6333.

Rothe is celebrating his fortieth year of teaching at CSU, Chico, and this organ concert will be his last solo appearance as a member of the Chico State music faculty.

Rothe began teaching at Chico State College in January, 1968, and played his first concert in April of that year.  He has also been an advocate of fine pipe organs during his tenure at Chico. A dozen fine North Valley organs (including two at CSU, Chico) owe their existence to his counsel.
