Students: Honors Program
 
 
Students in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts can earn Honors in the following majors: Art, English, French, History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies. Honors requires a series of pre-requisites and a two-semester 6-unit senior thesis in addition to the courses required in the major by the department. The seniior thesis is a research or performance project that culminates in a public presentation or publication and earns you special recognition on your transcript and diploma. For more infomation, contact the department of your major.

The University sponsors an Honors House for a students who wish to live in a study-oriented atmosphere with social events geared to student interests.

The Dean's List recognizes students who earn a 3.5 or better on l2 or more graded units the preceding semester. Honors at graduation will be awarded to students with superior academic achievement. Designations are: Summa cum laude to the top 1 percent of the graduation class, and Magna cum laude to the top 3 percent of the class.

You can also earn Honors in General Education. The coordinator of this program is Carol Edelman.
