Dr. Nice’s current research project focuses upon the seventeenth-century writings of Thomas Dineley [Dingley] and François-Nicolas Baudot, sieur Dubuisson-Aubenay. These two writers shadowed government agents during travels around Europe, and a comparison of their observations reveal interesting similarities and differences between seventeenth-century England and France.
Professor Nice’s articles have appeared in The English Historical Review, Studies in Medieval and Renaissance History, The Catholic Historical Review, and The Welsh History Review. He has also published a book review in The Sixteenth Century Journal. In 2009 he has published his book Sacred History and National Identity: Comparisons between Early Modern Wales and Brittany.
See the Faculty Publications page for information on Professor Nice's recent book.
