Dallas DeForest

Research

Professor DeForest’s research focuses on the social and cultural history of the Roman empire. He is especially interested in the study of Roman urbanism, monumental architecture, social and daily life, religion, and the archaeology of Roman and Byzantine Greece. He is also a field archaeologist and uses material evidence extensively in his research. He is currently preparing a monograph on public bathing culture in late antiquity, and has published articles in the Journal of Late Antiquity and elsewhere. He teaches History 101 and upper division courses in Greek and Roman history.
