Research

Dr. Clark's current research considers the relationship between military defeats and political commemoration in the Roman Republic, concentrating upon the third and second centuries B.C. Her project examines the ancient evidence for Rome's defeats in this period, and investigates the ways in which representations of these defeats influenced both the historical evolution of the republic and the development of Roman historiography.
