Research Interests
Dr. Easton’s current research project is a translation from German to English of The Diaries of Count Harry Kessler, 1880-1918 for publisher Alfred A. Knopf. Future projects include a study of the Darmstadt artists' colony in Germany, 1899 to 1914.
Publications

Professor Easton is the author of the highly acclaimed The Red Count: The Life & Times of Harry Kessler ( University of California Press, 2002). Klett-Cotta Verlag published a translation in German of this biography in 2005. In addition to encyclopedia entries and an article in Central European History, he has published book reviews in German Studies Review, the American Historical Review, the Journal of Modern History, and Central European History.
Honors and Awards
Dr. Easton recently received a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellowship for 2007-2008. In 2002-2003, he was the Outstanding Professor Award recipient at California State University, Chico.
