Research Interests
Dr. Nice’s current research project focuses upon the Council in the Marches of Wales during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. In particular, his project examines the inclusion of traditionally non-Welsh shires under the jurisdiction of this largely Welsh institution, and assesses the resulting impact on seventeenth-century English and Welsh politics.
Publications
Professor Nice’s articles have appeared in The English Historical Review, Studies in Medieval and Renaissance History, The Catholic Historical Review, and The Welsh History Review. He has also published a book review in The Sixteenth Century Journal.
Honors and Awards
Dr. Nice has been the recipient of a number of research grants to support his research.
