No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
Federal legislation passed in 2002 -- the No
Child Left Behind Act -- is in conflict with California's educational
policies in several areas, including Supplementary
Authorizations. State and federal authorities are attempting to negotiate
resolutions of these differences. Check with the History Department Credential
Advisor for current information about these issues. The California Department
of Education has published an NCLB
Resource Guide that explains many of the issues and implications associated
with this legislation.
