We have active chapters of the following honors societies on our campus:
If
you earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during your freshman
year at Chico, you qualify to join Phi Eta Sigma, a national honor
society for college freshman. If you qualify, you should be notified
the semester after you achieve a 3.5 GPA. For further information, call
Mimi Von Rotz, adviser of the chapter, at 530-898-5712 or check out the Phi Eta Sigma homepage.
The
Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is a national society reserved for
undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty who demonstrate academic
excellence and scholarly distinction. Undergraduate students with GPAs
in the upper 10% of their class are eligible for membership. Members of
Phi Kappa Phi are eligible for national as well as local scholarships.
For further information, call Dr. Nancy Carter, faculty adviser of the
chapter, at 530-898-6562 or check out the Phi Kappa Phi homepage.
The
Golden Key International Honour Society is open to students in their
junior and senior years. There is a one-time fee for lifetime
membership. Most of the membership fees are reinvested into the Society
in the form of scholarships, publications, and the funding of the
national convention. For further information, call Josh Whittinghill,
adviser of the chapter, at 530-898-6831 or check out the Golden Key International Honour Society homepage.
