Student Awards for Research and Creativity Application

The Award

The Provost's Student Awards for Research and Creativity are grants available to students at CSU, Chico to complete original projects under the guidance of faculty or staff advisors. The awards are made available twice a year from funds allocated by the Provost. Grants for projects undertaken during the Fall and Spring semesters may be up to $850 for undergrads and $1,700 for graduate students. The Summer awards may be up to $2,500 for undergrads and up to $5,000 for graduate students. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must propose an original project and a budget justifying the requested size of the award.
  • Students must have a faculty or staff advisor.
  • Students need, except under extraordinary circumstances, a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA.

Timeline

The spring and summer award application processes run concurrently during the spring semester each year; while the fall application process occurs part way through the fall semester.

Informational sessions about the awards are held every semester. These sessions are advertised via campus announcements.
