Conference Services

CSU, Chico Conference Services offers full service, convenient and affordable on-campus housing and dining services for youth and adult groups, as well as individuals during the summer period of June 6, 2008 – August 8, 2008. Guests are housed in traditional residence halls and meals are served at Whitney Hall dining. We offer catered meals for all your conference needs. Have your next conference at CSU, Chico and experience all the wonderful things the town and university have to offer.

Conference Desk Services

Conference Desk ServicesThe Whitney Desk is open from 6am to midnight for conference business.
The following services are available at the Whitney Desk:  

  • Parking permits
  • Directory information for campus and community services
  • Message/mail service
  • Report any maintenance or custodial
    problems
  • Sports equipment/pool equipment checkout

Telephones

Long distance and local calls may be placed from pay phones outside the residence halls. The courtesy or "red" phones in the residence hall lobbies may be used to place on-campus calls only. There are telephones in the rooms for on-campus emergency dialing. Phone service can be arranged when you arrive, through CNS.

Custodial and Linen

The custodial staff in each residence hall maintains all public areas and provides linen service for some conference groups.

Laundry Facilities

Card–operated washers and dryers are provided in each residence hall. Debit cards may be purchased at the add–value station in the residence hall lobby. Money can be added to these cards in $5 increments and can not be refunded.

You may receive mail by contacting Hillary Cook at the University Housing & Food Service office to be added to a list. 530–898–6325

Incoming mail is held at the Whitney Desk.

Parking Permits

Parking on campus from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekdays is by permit only. Parking is free on weekends. Parking is included with your overnight stay. Parking without a permit or in any other area besides the stadium lot may result in a parking fine. Permits are not valid in metered spaces.

Recreational Facilities

The conference desk has sports equipment checkout for conference participants.  

Dining

Student in Dining HallMeals are served buffet–style, allowing you to select from a variety of hot and cold entrees, a vegetarian entrée, salad and sandwich bars, fresh fruit, desserts and beverages.

Monday – Friday:
Breakfast 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Lunch 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Dinner 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday:
Brunch 10 a.m. – Noon
Dinner 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Conference Housing Policies

Guests staying in the residence halls are expected to abide by all University and Residence Hall policies. These policies have been established in the interest of assuring that our diverse community of summer guests has a safe and enjoyable visit to our campus.

  1. The use and/or possession of alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the CSU, Chico campus. This includes in and around the residence halls unless an alcohol permit is obtained.
  2. Quiet hours are 10 p.m. – 8 a.m.
  3. Non–registered guests may not stay in the residence halls.
  4. All youth guests are expected to follow curfews that are established by group leaders.
  5. Smoking is prohibited in the residence halls and within 25 feet of residence hall entrances.
