University Housing is seeking talented and passionate leaders to join our Resident Advisor team! Could this be you?

Resident Advisors serve an integral role in building community and supporting overall student success. Whether it is through planning events, performing safety checks or talking with a student who is struggling with classes, Resident Advisors are committed to creating a positive residential experience.

Resident Advisors also gain valuable skills in the areas of leadership, interpersonal interactions and time management. The Resident Advisor position is also a nationally recognized leadership position that is a great addition to any resume.

Resident Advisor Requirements:

  • Must be a full time enrolled student at Chico State during the term of employment
  • Must maintain a 2.5 semester and cumulative GPA
  • Must be in good judicial standing with Chico State
  • Must enroll in and pass a Spring Introductory Leadership course- Register for HCSV 189: Sections 1, 3, 8, or 9

Compensation Package:

  • Full Room & Meal Plan
  • Early Class Registration

Application Process:

Applications will be available early November. Please email all items below to

  • Student Employment Application (document must be opened in Internet Explorer)
  • Resident Advisor Supplement Application
  • A cover lettering expressing your interest in the position
  • A current resume
  • Two Reference Forms (one may be a current Resident Advisor) 

Once your completed application is received, you will be contacted regarding the formal interview process.

Information Sessions
Interested applicants are highly advised to attend at least one information session for additional information regarding the responsibilities of the Resident Advisor position. Check back in November for dates and times.
