At Chico State University, student housing is separated into three residential areas: Main campus, North campus, and University Village. Located on Main Campus, Shasta and Lassen Halls are each home to 210 undergraduate students and are situated across the lawn from one another adjacent to the University’s highest building, Whitney Hall, the university 's highest building.
Shasta and Lassen Halls each have 5 Resident Assistant staff and one full-time professional residence hall manager in each building. Hall staff assist students with their transition to college life, as well as aide in educational, social, recreational and cultural programming activities.
Shasta and Lassen Halls are traditional residence hall-style communities. Student rooms are double occupancy with community restrooms on the corridor. Each building is a three-story walk-up and also includes recreation, study and programming areas.
Shasta and Lassen Hall residents participate in the residential meal plan program and can dine at the Whitney Dining Center located very near by. You can also use your meal plan at such on-campus eateries as Butte Station, Holt Station, Creekside Cafe, and the Market Place Food Court.
Set amid the famous greenery of Chico State and Chico Creek, Shasta and Lassen Halls are within site of the campus core, providing easy access to the University Library, classroom buildings and Bell Memorial Union.
Like all other Chico State residence halls, Shasta and Lassen feature fully furnished rooms, high speed Ethernet, air conditioning, cable television, and telephone service with call waiting and voice mail.
There is also access to a computer lab, study lounge, recreation room as well as on site laundry services.
Residents of Shasta Hall are also close to the fun and interest of downtown Chico.
My favorite thing is like your friends are right next door—living right next door. Everyone’s pretty friendly. People come to your room and conversate. You get to meet a lot of people. I’d say it’s a good experience if you want to meet people and make friends. That’s pretty much why I came to the dorms.
StudentWe hope to see you soon
