MESA
The MEP (MESA Engineering Program) Housing Program at University Village is designed to promote academic excellence and camaraderie and give students the opportunity to live in an academically related living environment. Standards have been set which will enable the residents to live in harmony. To remain in good standing as residents it is imperative that the students show progress toward their technical degree.
This unique living environment for MEP students serves as a vital resource center to house and assist students in earning a degree in the demanding technical fields of engineering and computer science. Please contact Ajamu Lamumba 530–898–4893.
Agriculture
Located at University Village, the Agricultural Theme House consists of 35 first-time agriculture students and one agriculture resident advisor. These students share a common interest in agriculture and study, work, play, and live together. Students participate in a variety of educational, leadership and social programs including BBQs, speakers, advising sessions, field trips, and more. The students become integrated into the College of Agriculture very quickly because they get a great deal of interaction with faculty, staff, and current students.
University Village is considered an independent style of living. Students cook for themselves but do have the option of purchasing campus meal plans. The cost of living at UV is less than the traditional dorms because it does not include food. Traditional dorms include 15 meals per week in their price. Students live in a six-person cluster at University Village in single or double rooms. Every two rooms share a bathroom, and every four rooms share a kitchen and dining area. The UV grounds offers two pools, a spa, tennis courts, laundry facilities, and recreation room.
So what do current students think about the program?
- The motto for the Theme House should be "instant friends" because that is exactly what it is. Friends all around you as soon as you move in.
- This has been such a great way to begin my college experience!
- What a great way to meet people!
Applicants will start getting information about applying to the Agricultural Theme House in the late fall. For more information contact AgOutreach@csuchico.edu
